Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
In Castlevania series, this game took little bit different approach in gameplay. Its more like adventure oriented than pretty straightforward platformer. Even though the different approach, it feels like a castlevania game as it should be.
In the game you travel all over the land collecting draculas relics in the mansions. On the way to the mansions you can also buy various items from the towns, weapons upgrades and such. There's lots of hidden areas in the game, so make sure you look up almost every corner when you proceed in the game.
One odd thing about this game is that every mansion even doesn't have a boss fight. And when there is one, they are usually pretty lame and easy to defeat. Probably hardest part in the game is probably just the traveling and know where to go, because game can be pretty cryptic sometimes and it doesn't give you so much hints to progress.
Even though game has it own downfalls. It has it own unique touch in Castlevania franchise. I really admire that they did game like this. Although if they would put little bit more effort to it. It would be a masterpiece.
